We are excited to announce that we will once again be offering American chestnut seedlings in 2023. In partnership with the Maine Chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation we are happy to be able to provide access to these incredible trees.
These are first-season whips, ranging from one to two feet high. Trees will come in either plastic or paper tree tubes and will be ready to plant in the ground or grown out in large pots for planting at a later date. Seedlings are not blight-resistant, but will be good candidates to pollinate with blight-resistant pollen when it becomes available (hopefully soon!). American chestnuts are fast-growing trees that will likely begin producing nuts between 5 and 7 years of age. We recommend getting at least two trees if you are interested in harvesting nuts for planting or eating.
Seedlings sell out fast every year so don't delay! All sales are pre-orders, seedlings will be available for pickup on May 20th. We do not offer shipping at this time.
